DeAnna teaches
"Contemporary Dance and Composition"
at The Cloud Foundation

In collaboration with colleague Mary McCarthy, DeAnna will teach "Contemporary Dance and Composition", a workshop focused on exploring dance as a means of self-expression. Participants will create movement inspired by specific dance styles and drawn from familiar everyday gestures, to explore the relationship between dance and sound, and to experiment with performance in a variety of public and private venues. Through improvisation, group work, and partner exercises students will get comfortable expressing their own ideas through movement, and will try out a variety of ways to interact with their audiences.

August 18th - 21st, 2008
Monday - Thursday
8:20 - 9:20 am

DeAnna teaches
"Flexibility and Conditioning"

Taking Healthy Steps is one week intensive during which girls ages 11 – 14, both dancers and non-dancers, explore a range of classes including Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre Arts, strength & flexibility training, nutrition, gyrokinesis and yoga. By gaining greater physical awareness through movement and discovering different ways to share their own voices, Taking Healthy Steps participants develop healthy self-image, leadership skills, and confidence that remain long after the end of the program.  DeAnna will lead 60 students over a four day workshop in the discovery of how to condition the body for a long and healthy life.
