Paula Josa-Jones / Performance Works presents "RIDE flies" an open rehearsal / informal performance of boundary-breaking new work for dancers, aerialists, horses and riders
We will be performing new material developed during a ten-day workshop with dancer and aerialist Paola Styron, dancers Ingrid Schatz, DeAnna Pellecchia, Dillon Paul and three horses and riders. Also participating will be Escorial, the liberty trained horse belonging to equine trainer Sarah Hollis. The workshop and rehearsal take place in Mistover Farm’s large indoor arena, with aerial equipment by Flying by Foy, well known masters of theatrical flight using the patented Track On Track system, which allows two operators to independently control lift and travel of the aerial performer. The rehearsal will last approximately 75 minutes, followed by refreshments and an opportunity to speak with the artists.

DeAnna teaches "Contemporary Dance and Composition" at The Cloud Foundation
In collaboration with colleague Mary McCarthy, DeAnna will teach "Contemporary Dance and Composition", a workshop focused on exploring dance as a means of self-expression. Participants will create movement inspired by specific dance styles and drawn from familiar everyday gestures, to explore the relationship between dance and sound, and to experiment with performance in a variety of public and private venues. Through improvisation, group work, and partner exercises students will get comfortable expressing their own ideas through movement, and will try out a variety of ways to interact with their audiences.

DeAnna teaches "Flexibility and Conditioning" at Boston Ballet's Taking Healthy Steps Program
Taking Healthy Steps is one week intensive during which girls ages 11 – 14, both dancers and non-dancers, explore a range of classes including Ballet, Modern Dance, Musical Theatre, Theatre Arts, strength & flexibility training, nutrition, gyrokinesis and yoga. By gaining greater physical awareness through movement and discovering different ways to share their own voices, Taking Healthy Steps participants develop healthy self-image, leadership skills, and confidence that remain long after the end of the program. DeAnna will lead 60 students over a four day workshop in the discovery of how to condition the body for a long and healthy life.
