As Artistic Director/Choreographer of KAIROS Dance TheaterDeAnna uses rich, visual imagery to craft performance pieces for the stage, site-specific landscapes and non-traditional public spaces that take audiences on a visceral journey. KAIROS’ work has been presented by Boston University, Roger Williams University, Medicine Wheel Productions, Provincetown Dance Festival, Cotuit Center for the Arts, Boston Cyber Arts Festival, Boston Exhibition & Convention Center, The Rose Kennedy Greenway Conservancy in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Critical Moves Performance Series, ARTBEAT & DANCING IN THE STREETS / Somerville Arts Council, Jose Mateo’s Dance for World Community Day, HATCH Presenting Series/NYC, and its invitation-only follow-up series HATCHED, Six Degrees of Separation at University Settlement/NYC, National Convention of Artists & Innovators/Cue Ball Capital Inc., Massachusetts Dance Festival, Nave Gallery, and The Institute of Contemporary Art Boston. In 2012 KAIROS was awarded residencies at URBANO Project, Roger Williams University and The Boston Center for the Arts. In 2014 KAIROS was awarded Boston Dance Alliance’s Rehearsal and Retreat Fellowship. KAIROS is currently dance-company-in-residence at Medicine Wheel Productions.
KAIROS' immersive, multi-sensory performances have been featured as "Critics' Picks" twelve times by the Boston Globe. The company's work with youth has received recognition from the City of Boston and President Obama's Committee on the Arts and Humanities for exceptional work in presenting rich learning opportunities to young people in the field of arts. Their on-going project, "HER", uses contemporary dance to explore and shed light on women's complex struggles for strength and personal identity in the face of society’s expectations and has been performed throughout New England and New York.
